The Conversation Series was a chance to engage in discussions about reusing empty buildngs, the opportunities and benefits for the city and the challenges faced by those leading on their restoration. The first Conversation event at the Florence Institute involved the 'Florrie', Homebaked, Anfield and Jewel on the Hill, Everton Library exploring the potential for community led reinvestment by showcasing examples of varied approaches taken to reusing empty buildings and the second detailing local debate on ‘Our empty buildings – why knock them down?’ featuring Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson, Rob Burns, Urban Design and Heritage Manager at Liverpool City Council, Clare Devaney, Associate of the RSA and urban strategist; and Erika Rushton.
