University Church of England Academy
Students from the University Church of England Academy in Ellesmere Port are working with Prince Architects and Workspace to redesign the Park Road Reservoir in the Toxteth area of Liverpool. The Dingle 2000 Development Trust are currently looking at how they can bring the building back into use to benefit the local area, and are very supportive of the students. The building offers a very unusual design challenge, with a large internal space designed to hold vast quantities of water and a roof from which you can see fantastic views of the city. The group are considering how their designs could work to benefit the local community as well as drawing people into the area.
Students have taken part in workshops that have included a site visit with the building owner, design workshops, presentation skills sessions and model making.
